THE ESTATE

Andalusian Roots, Contemporary Soul

In a five-hectare environment brimming with vegetation and natural beauty, Cortijo de la Seda presents itself as a retreat of refined tranquility. The rooms, bathed in light and enveloped in silence, invite you to disconnect from noise and reconnect with the essence of the landscape.

The name pays homage to the ancient Nasrid art of silk, a legacy that permeates the character of the cortijo and its commitment to authenticity. The common spaces—with reinterpreted patios and pools that reflect the sky—dialogue with the centennial olive grove and rows of vines, creating a serene atmosphere that invites slow contemplation. Nothing is casual: the orientation of spaces, the play of shadows, the harmony with the land… everything has been carefully orchestrated to offer a genuine resting experience, where tradition intertwines with subtle and contemporary elegance.

Where Nasrid Memory Beats in Every Corner

History

During the Nasrid period (13th to 15th centuries), Granada became one of the most important silk production centers in Europe. This Cortijo was a key point in the Nasrid silk tradition, where ancient agricultural structures supported a cultivation that nourished Granada’s wealth and culture. Walking through the estate, one perceives that artisanal heritage: the memory of hands that worked the fine thread mixes with the whisper of the olive grove. In 1890, the drying house was built, which today, after its restoration, serves as a restaurant and hosts events, meetings, and coworking, preserving the essence of rural life and its historical value.

After decades of rest, the estate has been recovered with an approach that honors its vestiges: original walls and ceilings are integrated with contemporary gestures that enhance its character without diluting its past. Every corner keeps history alive, offering visitors the sensation of inhabiting a place with deep roots. Thus, Cortijo de la Seda combines memory and comfort, allowing the grandeur of its Nasrid origin to dialogue with the serene luxury experience it offers today.
